Spring Book Circle: Real Self-Care
A 3 month guided book circle exploring Real Self-Care by Dr. Pooja Lakshmin. Together, we’ll examine the difference between performative wellness and boundary-based self-leadership and explore what it means to reclaim agency within imperfect systems.
This circle is educational and reflective in nature. It is not therapy or coaching, but a facilitated discussion space grounded in evidence-based concepts around burnout, systems awareness, and self-leadership.
We’ll meet over Zoom every other Tuesday at 6:00 pm MT for three months. Alternate scheduled sessions may open as needed.
Each session will include:
45 minutes of guided discussion, reflection prompts, and facilitated exercises
An optional 15-minute open connection time to stay and chat
A light email touchpoint in between meetings
No extra apps, no content platforms, no social media
If this sounds like the space you’ve been craving, please join us for conversation, reflection, and community starting March 31st.
Spring Session Overview
Session 1 – March 31, Orientation & Meet + Greet
We’ll get to know one another, set intentions, and create agreements for a compassionate, thoughtful space.
Session 2 – April 14, Setting Boundaries
Where are we overextended? What does boundary-setting look like in real life, at work, at home, in relationships?
Session 3 – April 28, Practicing Self-Compassion
How do we speak to ourselves when we’re tired, overwhelmed, or falling short? We’ll explore self-talk, shame, and gentler internal leadership.
Session 4 – May 12, Being Authentic
What does it mean to live in alignment with our values? Where are we performing wellness instead of practicing it?
Session 5 – May 26, Asserting Power
Where do we have agency? How do we reclaim it quietly, sustainably, and without burning ourselves out?
Session 6 – June 2, Integration & What’s Next
We’ll reflect on what we’ve learned, what’s shifting, and how we want to carry this work forward.
This circle is designed to be lightly guided and deeply relational.
No lectures, homework, or over-doing it. Instead, you will be invited into honest conversation and reflection.
Investment
Total cost is $125 (~$20/session) with options to pay over time. Choose the payment plan that feels most supportive and sustainable for you when you are at the checkout screen (i.e. Klarna).
This group will be intentionally kept small (12 women or fewer) so we can build real connection.
Join book circle if you’ve been craving:
A space to talk about what you’re reading
A community of thoughtful, growth-oriented women
A more realistic and grounded definition of self-care
Gentle accountability and structure
This circle is designed for individuals who identify as women, inclusive of cis and trans women. If you do not identify as a woman but feel aligned with a women-centered space, please reach out to discuss whether this circle may be a good fit by emailing kaylyn@gentlerootswellness.com.
